So, out of curiosity, I decided to try cleaning the USB-C port on my IdeaPad Flex 5 (2021) since for the longest time I thought my laptop had a faulty port and would no longer charge via USB-C. Well, to my surprise after a bit of light scraping with a toothpick, I was able to get it working again! The light came on as soon as I plugged in my 60w charger

I love hackers. The fact that I can visit a website in the PS3 browser and patch the firmware with the press of a button is just a wonderful experience. :playstation:

More importantly, they’re preserving video games. Sony is shutting down the PlayStation Store in July and then it won’t be possible to download or acquire DLC for any games any longer.

Watching Computer Chronicles on my CRT like it was meant to be watched. Currently watching the UNIX episode from 1985

This could have been us.

Stumbled across this video and can't tell if it's real or not (who can tell anymore), but claims to be a 3D printed "laptop" case in the style of the Flat Mac by Hartmut Esslinger that houses a Mac Mini. This is different than the one Kevin Noki did in 2024. I want it to be real.

More laptops and consumer electronics that take cordless drill batteries, please.

Everyone talking about how bad the Mastodon v5 UI looks but I'm over here on the Brutaldon web client where it's always set to the Full Brutalism theme

I didn't realize how many sites that I regularly visit are dependent on PHP until the exploit news came out. Seems like a good bit of the sites I visit are back up but many are still holding out for one reason or another

Looking for your best zine-making resources, especially those geared toward beginners. Think: "I have an idea for a zine but I've never made one before. How do I get started?"

I know I've boosted a few similar inquiries recently, and thought I'd bookmarked a few to look at later, but can't find them. Sorry if this is redundant to other recent threads!

Feel free to boost.

Today's #ThriftFind was this copy of National Audubon Society Interactive CD-ROM Guide to North American Birds for Win9x and Mac OS. I used to check out the field guides from my school's library, specifically the Fossils and the Rocks and Minerals books. Can't wait to get around to checking this out

Not exactly important since I can find other ways to go about it, but I'd also like to run OBS so that I can get to actually playing my retro PC games and record footage. *BSD does support UVC based capture cards, right?
