Oh yeah, the PHP thing.

Looks like archive.org and a number of fediverse servers are down. Leave my wholsesome corner of the Internet alone!

I almost missed The Odyssey steelbook pre-order. Wally World, Gruv, and the Yellow Overlords were all sold out. But thankfully B&N still had it available. Yet another win from the *actual* book sellers.

good one, tell me another.

Obviously F’art not generated in the Fauxdeaux region of France is *only* distilled sparkling bullshit.

Sloppers out there filling the void with their fake art…

F’art

"When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free."

~ The Peace of Wild Things by Wendell Berry

Well ain't that a kick to the nuts.

I sincerely hope Wendell Berry rests in peace, in spite of the current tumult of the state of America. I hope that in time we can grow into the people that he wished we would all be. Whether that's people more connected with nature, agriculture, our food sources, or even just each other, we should all strive to be better, together.

$140 USD

The same in March 2024 (that this is replacing) cost roughly $41 ( except that it was G.SKILL Ripjaws).

AI must not be replacing all developers yet. Starting to see an uptick in ambient cold emails again.

"Why don't we manufacture anything anymore?" Probably because there's a lot of friction against it. The latest SmarterEveryDay video covering Destin's quest to build and sell an entirely domestically made grill scrubber highlights a few things.

Clearing out some older screenshots. I found this from play testing some of the random encounters during the Buried in the Bahamas adventure I'm currently running. I've been happy to report that Pirate Borg seems to hold to its OSR roots firmly when it comes to both random encounters and also how wild the tables can turn during an encounter.

I own other Sony built equipment and like them just fine. Maybe things will change, I hope so, but I'm not holding my breath for it. Not even for a game like God of War Laufey that I'm legitimately excited for.

If it was just the return of exclusives to not be PC ported, maybe I'd consider it. But taken in light with their removal of peoples "purchased" movies and prior history with pulling anything that might not be within their perfect control (looking at you PS3 "OtherOS"), I feel like there's a certain trend that isn't worth giving in to.

But now that Sony has no further PC porting plans, you'd think that if you're invested in some of their exclusive games, that might make purchasers inclined to move back to their hardware right? Well, not in my case.

For a good while I've enjoyed Sony games, GoW included, but ever since they started porting to PC, I've been preferring to play a good number of their games not on a dedicated Sony console. It's worked out pretty well, they know how to port games and make them run well.

The God of War Laufey problem nobody's talking about.

Sony.

I just found this beauty while rummaging through some things. I feel like I just won the lottery.
