Historical question: One hundred or so years ago, how widely read were prominent anarchists such as Bakunin and Kropotkin? Was their work more broadly known and available?

Nowadays, to encounter and read Kropotkin you have to know what you're looking for. But back in the day, it seems like these thinkers could be found in a lot of libraries alongside Rousseau, Marx, Tolstoy, etc.

For example, I'm currently reading about how Práxedis Guerrero read Bakunin and Kropotkin on his hacienda in Guanajuato, long before becoming an anarchist. Same for Ricardo Flores Magón (sans hacienda). Today, to have read Kropotkin *before* becoming an anarchist strikes me as improbable.
