the way berliners talk about the u8, the L train would destroy them
there are so many reasons to oppose algorthmic decision-making ("AI"), from the environmental to the cognitive, but this is why my fundamental objection will always be the inherent violence of classification, and the way that it is imposed on the everyday person to support "the future"
means testing plus algorithmic formulas are two terrible things that depend on one another. the same effects, people paying for social goods based on what they can afford, could be accomplished with less suffering and more fairness by making goods free at point of consumption and supported by progressive taxation ... but instead you get awful things like this: https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2026/may/04/kenya-ai-healthcare-reforms-driving-up-costs-for-poor
the trees have left me a state: I need someone to pull all the snot out of my nose with a little rubber sphere like a toddler
the best thing about speaking German is when you want to make "but" dramatic: AH-BER 10/10, no notes, topp
Immer wenn ich denke, ich sei vielleicht doch (zu?) linksgrün-progressiv schaue ich einfach 5 Minuten auf @lowtechmagazine und fühle mich wieder, bourgeois, bequem und konservativ.

this whole thread is great, but in particular this dicussion of llm code gambling is truly insightful
imagine being out there arguing that it's FIne Actually :tm: not to disclose you are using an LLM when people specifically ask
soothes my mind to make stuff with something that kinda becomes an extension of my body without the issue of a body (there's other issues tho)
there's something so comforting in using the tools you know without thinking too much about how to use them
Are other people getting the weird, probably astroturfed "hating AI is for white people" propaganda?
this is what the inside of my mind looks like, for anyone who doesn't know already
