If you can’t even postulate it, if you can’t imagine that this experience of being spanked might produce that effect in maybe some circumstances, if someone like me is trying to tell you that when you let go of the apple it will fall towards the Earth and we’ve lost you already, for you the apple simply disappears and reappears on the ground or something (that analogy is better than I expected), then that is something long term thing, evolution has somehow allowed this sense to atrophy. Well, I have my summer project, something to do while I dehydrate, get ready for another thread of amateur luthiery.

Big plans to do what I haven’t quite yet: for starters I’d like to get the neck off without splitting one side, I’ve done that with both of my Framuses, acoustic and electric. On the electric I chiseled the old joint out and on my acoustic I did that too the first time. This time it was my first block to remove and I did that with water, and the whole joint had been exposed and reset before so I could open it up some, rebuild what I had destroyed the first time.

That doesn’t look to be the case with this one, I think the top is intact and of coarse I’d like to keep it that way, so there’s no access inside for deconstruction, I think I’ll have to leave the internal part of the old joint in, just saw the neck off from the outside and somehow build around the internal part of the joint for my block.

I want some playdough or something with which I can take 3D impressions of the inside.

oh, gawd, I just saw the 12 string version of my Framus acoustic. Neck's broke at both ends, but I would give it exactly the treatment I gave mine.

I had resigned myself to the Seagull and went to get it, but thankfully it was gone, and then I saw this one, it's a little more money, but it's half what the last one like it was, and I was cussing myself out for missing that one.. The thing is I have a 12 string, I put together like that, but it's plywood, a composite body, I'll cannibalize it for the neck and the bolt on plate and screws, and the one I found has a better fretboard and tuners. I'll have to make another block.

I just hope I can relax, take my time with it, abuse my hands a little less.

I mean I haven't got it yet. It would be cool to have a matching set. 💜

OK, Imma try to teach you all something about evolution, because I fancy myself a theorist.

obviously, your first line of adaptive defense in a dynamic environment, is your brain.

The climate changes, you don’t wait for evolution, you think of ways to keep cool first, thinking is adapting, right? If you didn’t have that brain, it would be straight up fast and brutal darwinism, you might dehydrate the first hotter summer, trying to cross a desert you always could.
.
Probably the most active evolution happens there, on the front line, in our brains, and that’s not plainly visible. My idea is that some time after the latest coating of ice, human things changed quickly and not so’s you’d know by looking at them, things changed in human brains, in what has become the majority sort, the sort in charge. That sometime after the ice, human brains started adapting, evolving a new type of brain that is adapted and adapting further for the human created environment that most humans live in.
.
Perhaps it’s true that since we make everything for these bodies, we will see a pause in the skeletal changes, but we do not make a world for what was the human brain, we drift into new and horrific social environments and force the brain to adapt. That isn’t stopping.
.
It’s half of the human noise, Adapt, get stronger, keep up, fall in line. I’m not asking, I’m telling you. Resilience is adaptation. There is nothing in evolutionary theory that says a steady pressure means evolution stops; it is exactly steady pressure that causes change, steady change.
.
So the majority human type’s brain is increasingly adapted for the human social environment and by their social orientation they deem that the socially unadapted are “divergent,” - this means divergent from their evolutionary trajectory, not from anything else, and if we zoom out and take a longer perspective we can see that is the majority of humans who are divergent with respect to the rest of life on Earth this way, that they have parted ways from the larger community of life and that this is the very definition of asking to be selected out.

but genetics and neurotype don’t work that way, it’s not a spectrum from simple to complex whatevers, it’s usually specific, isn’t it. Neurodiversity’s spiky ball of traits shows that types are brilliant in some areas and slower in others, like in the absent minded professor meme, which is real in many cases, just because you grok relativity doesn’t prove you can tie your shoelaces.

A thought that perhaps the basic facts of the Allistic prehistory narrative needn’t be denied, perhaps the aggression began because of a rise in settled populations due to agriculture’s success - but I have never heard the causation to go with this correlation and I have long since concluded that the cause in the narrative is just the built in, Allistic bad attitude about their Human Nature.

But there could well be a real cause, beyond the assumption, everything changed, diets changed, other selective pressures changed (like viruses became far more of an issue with a rise in population and proximity), it could be another case like the fox farm where some change that seemed desirable brought with it a whole lot more than you were looking for.

But bar what would be a Dmaj7 at the easy end, that’s two fingers just laid down. I’ve worked out that I can play Hello It’s Me all with two fingers except for the C7 at the end of the chorus, and that the maj7 chords are straight across from the min7 ones half the time.

I assume Rundgren writ it on the guitar for that reason. Here’s three pics of my mini sausages showing three Eflatmaj7 chords, and I’ll show the whole song soon. Two fingers, it could almost be someone’s first song, a surprise, sounds jazzy, looks it on paper. 😀

I think it’s compliance, submission, and often they know you’re lying but they DGAF as long as you make the submissive acknowledgement. I mean, when they know you’re lying, why pretend to test that? You lie looking straight in their eyes, you pass a test, you tell the truth but don’t let them look into your soul, you fail.

Eye contact is a test for submission , but also for whether or not you’re a COMPETENT liar. If you are, in a world destroying irony, they can “trust,” you.
