Being civilized has led to us (humans) resorting to the legal system to resolve disputes instead of wreaking* vengeance upon the heads of our enemies for seven generations. And I’m not sure we are better off as a result. 😅
Edit: changed reaping to wreaking because that is the way it is said normally. I always say reaping because I think of the Grim Reaper. 🤷🏽‍♀️
