Random sights on recent walks.

We finally run across a cat in the wilds of London!
We are summarily ignored.

Speaking of cats, this is a cat "shaped" serving robot. Well, the "head" above screen sorta has cat ear shapes and the screen sometimes switches to a faux feline face. Mostly it seems to assist serving staff, slowly making its way towards a table where the staff will eventually hit button on top to stop it remove plates for customers, then send it away. In this case it had brought son's pasta dish, the server gave it to him then went to another table and as cat approached she paused it to load it with dirty dishes, then hit a combo of buttons to send back to kitchen. It was an interesting dance. I walked behind it for a ways and got to watch a little girl wave and say "hi robot!" and then I swear she paused and then whispered, "I love you" ":^)

First dud hotel on the trip. They put us in different, tiny room (the bed barely fits, about 1' between it and walls). Bar down street had dj with mega speakers pointed outside going until after midnight that earplugs and noise cancelling could not block.

Recent rain and a low tide made for some nice, cool early morning exploring. Waded through a diverse collection of plants and skittering critters. Spooked a big ol' fish that must have been trolling the shadows.

Took old train up to Snaefell today, highest point on the island.

Finished this a few days ago. Do I haul back to states, mail it to sis in WY, or put on hotel bookshelves? Is there a cheap international book mail rate?

Also, tail end of low tide, went for an early walk and some wading.

I thought we went out to buy unscented laundry soap (long story) but ended up on old steam train, walking Castletown, lunch, bus to Port Erin for more walking, and bus ride back. For a little island there's a lot to see, many historical train options, and a nice bus network.
