Air conditioning should always be a last resort - after a society has utilized all the more efficient ways of keeping things cool.
A lot of buildings in the US wouldn't need A/C if they were simply built properly, surrounded by sensible city planning.
Drive around the south and you'll see large developments with houses that are designed for a cool environment, but which are located in very hot locales. Beyond stupid.

I dont even read the code anymore, I just let the whole internet prompt inject an agent loop that writes and merges everything itself, and label every issue good-first-issue let the haunted hum of unmonitored metricsmaxxing compute sort it out.

Now to integrate this with my Pattern library (which is very much in the prototype stage).
Finally worked out how to do coroutines (e.g. yield) in Common Lisp, using cl-cont, so I can give cl-collider parity with SuperCollider for scheduling.
Still don't entirely trust cl-cont (code walker macros give me the ick), but so far I haven't run into any issues.
So now I'm working through Eli Fielsteel's examples in his SuperCollider book and seeing how to translate them them to Common Lisp with cl-collider.
Ceiling fans help move the hot air up, and push the cold air down. Very efficient way to cool things down.
The old world is dying and the new one struggles to be born. Now is the time of absolute fucking dickheads.
It's amazing how often the answer to the question: "How do I do X in Common Lisp" is "use the library that @shinmera wrote".
Announcing our new regular volunteer days, starting on June 28th on #HackneyMarshes
Tasks will vary throughout the year and may include meadow management, constructing loggeries, creating rubble gardens, and other habitat improvement work.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience. We hope this will be an enjoyable opportunity for people to contribute to the care of the marshes while meeting others with an interest in local wildlife and conservation.

I'd be less militant about LLMs if the industry could stop bullshitting us.
Case in point - 'AI Coding Assistants'. Most of the work is being carried out by an ad-hoc collection of logic rules/special cases (probably implemented as if/else statements, rather than something sensible like Prolog).
Is the LLM even needed? Who the hell knows. Certainly not the AI industry.

What kind of a weird freak would want a 'personal message' from a stranger.
What corporate honcho thought this was a good idea, and is there a way we can stop them having children.

Surprisingly I actually have something that I can record for #DroneDay
I guess I should get on that...
Nice day down the woods for archery. Ate breakfast there - choc croissant + coffee. A squirrel came up the path really close, within 6 feet, looked at me, then ambled away into the undergrowth. Lots of other squirrels chasing each other around up the tree trunks and high in the canopy. Woodpeckers drumming out of sight. A few butterflies - speckled wood and peacock. Saw a sparrowhawk being chased through the trees by a couple of crows, probably unhappy about it being near their nest. Spotted 3 species of slime mould - wolf's milk, scrambled egg, and chocolate tube slime. Also a few new fungi, despite the hot dry weather - false chanterelle and clouded funnel, as well as the ever-present birch polypore, candlesnuff and dead man's fingers.
Was using my old bow - 45lb Black Hunter, which shoots quite differently to the 50lb Devourer that recently broke - shots go more to the right (probably because the BH shelf is cut past centre but the D is cut before centre), so I'm still adjusting to that, and didn't score great, but enjoyed it nevertheless.

A Note About Our Reviews Archive
Over the years, Avant Music News has accumulated something we're rather proud of, though we don't talk about it much: 2,382 original album, book, and performance reviews, all written in-house and freely available. You can browse the full archive here: It's a deep well of writing on the music we cover — avant-garde and free jazz, free improvisation, contemporary classical and new music, electroacoustic and microtonal work, drone, noise,…

Added some cl-collider examples ported from Eli Fieldsteel's book.
Began as practice for myself, but I've already found some missing code and one bug (which I fixed). Might be useful for anyone who fancies doing synthesis in Common Lisp.

Nekropolis Minois: There are 233 tombs quarried directly into the rock in the Late Minoan Cemetery of Armeni, Crete. Some are very impressive, some to small to even look inside. In May the tombs are surrounded by a wide variety of wild flowers. It's a very nice place to visit, with a convenient car park. 📷 CoppellaiaMatta More:
