I've been trying to dig deeper into ZFS internals lately. Found some questions asked a couple years ago that looked promising, only to find out that those questions were answered back then. By me. This has happened five times now.

Last week at work I got to play with a bunch of routers and switches and do BGP stuff for a future project. Definitely the most fun I've had at work in a while.
Do worry that I've somehow become the resident BGP expert in my team now, considering all my experience stems from playing around a bit with some people through tunnels.

Inspired by @neil I figured I'd start up a blog again for those times I get stuck spending weeks solving a problem that should really take about an hour. Website's still a work in progress, but I really didn't want to spend more than an hour on that.

I've used they/them pronouns wherever I can online for years. This started in an IRC chatroom. There was a custom where everyone would copy a short intro about themselves for new people. Mine happened to not identify my gender.
One person went crazy. Demanded I tell them. Looked up my picture, still couldn't tell. Left in a rage when I refused. It made me consider: why should it matter? How would you treat me differently?
So I opted out, even though I was cis.
Ugh why is this still so hard? I'm trying to find a small round box I can stick onto a light fixture to guide a cable out (to a lamp mounted elsewhere) and get a little more room to add a relay module. I can't even find the right (Dutch) keywords to search for.

Mainly these days I'm studying law with a strong interest in privacy, and trying hard to get companies to comply with GDPR sensibly. This involves more arguing with people in tiny meeting rooms than I thought.
