There's some discussion I don't want to hijack talking about people, women mostly, staying in bad relationships. Not abusive, just not enjoyable. Maybe the spark is gone or it was never really there or whatever. And the discussion is about why people don't start over.

Money and power imbalances have already been mentioned, but I think it's hugely unfair to these people in bad relationships to assume that they're too lazy to want better. Yeah, sure, you're unhappy in your relationship so it must be time to pull the plug.

But that's all assuming that you have something better to go to. Or that you're scared of the possibility of being single. People get lonely. There's nothing wrong with that.

All other things being equal, if you can call off a relationship with no negative side effects, you might still not do it. Why? Well, there's the whole "dating largely sucks" thing. And the whole "men largely suck" thing. So why would you trade the devil you know?

But maybe you're supposed to be single for a while? While I agree that there's no superiority to being in a relationship, people seem to think that this means that being single is superior, which it also isn't. Different strokes and so forth.

I don't know. I'm not trapped in a loveless marriage, but I'm not judging people who stay in mediocre situations when there might be better out there but it's hard to find.

I would throw myself into the torment nexus if they let me be tormented as a cute girl.

I realized last night that I absolutely cannot stand the way I look. Like, it looks unlike what my brain tells me I look like. Not for gender reasons either, unfortunately. My brain is stupid, but I don't disagree with it in this case. I look awful.

At the same time, if I woke up tomorrow in the body of a woman (yes, yes, I know, but you also know what I mean) my brain would see my reflection in the mirror and freak the fuck out.

If they invent the Matrix and plug me into it, I don't know what I would look like in the Matrix, but it wouldn't be how I actually look. I don't have a very good visual imagination. I don't see pictures in my mind. So I can't tell you what I think I should look like. I just know there's a vast disconnect between whatever that is and what shows up in reflections.

Reflections lie, but not this much.

I have no way of changing this either, which is a bit of a kick in the head.

Oh honey, no one is telling children they're trans. Trust me. Everyone is telling children that they're cis, repeatedly, hard, insistently, like a chorus of total negation. If a kid manages to figure out that they're trans in spite of every fucking thing in the world telling them they aren't trans, it wasn't because someone told them they were trans. The most they likely ever heard, and it's not all that likely, is that it's okay to be trans.

But you know that already. You don't want anyone to stop telling children they're trans, because no one does that. What you want is for it not to be okay to be trans.

I have a very difficult time with tucking because I can't get undergarments which are tight enough to keep things in place that will fit my waist. I have no ass to speak of, which means I could likely fit into smaller panties except my waist is too big for them to be comfortable.

Also, all the descriptions I've read of tucking make it seem like one needs significantly more in the penis department than I have. Can't get the bulge to go away, which may have something to do with FUPA but there's a bulge which isn't that.
