I burst into tears seeing this. Sesame Street is locked behind a paywall with HBO and Fred Rogers Productions went "NOPE" and made sure that the magic and compassion that Mr. Rogers taught is available to everyone, no matter your financial status. They're making sure underserved kids have access to education, and VERY important emotional education at that. (Also, "They release sesame street a week later" that is STILL treating kids of poorer economic groups as a separate and lesser class, think for 5 seconds, ffs)

Also, please remember that Mr. Rogers started saying he was feeding the fish because a little girl who was blind was worried he was forgetting. He made his show accessible before that was even an inkling of a thought in so many entertainers' heads.

I just wanna post Jim Cummings answering voice acting questions because he does SO many of the voices of my childhood. Everyone knows him (if they know him) as Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, but the man has literally done a little of everything (including the main voice of the Master in the original Fallout). If Lon Chaney was the Man of One Thousand faces, Jim Cummings is the Man of One Thousand Voices.

I used to work at Starbucks. I know exactly how they make every drink. If you ever want an at-home dupe, let me know what one and I probably know how to make it. If not, I guarantee I can figure it out easily enough. Screw Starbucks and their union busting and various other issues, save yourself a few bucks.

For instance: Their mocha is literally just hot cocoa mix with a pinch of salt, and a little extra sugar, mixed with water. Use a hot cocoa packet, add just enough milk to make it into a thinned paste/thick syrup, and add coffee (instant coffee absolutely works for this) and hot milk. It'll taste better and you can get hot cocoa packs that'll work at a dollar tree for 2 for a buck.

Found a mod for New Vegas that's called New California, and while it's definitely not New Vegas levels of writing for dialogue, it's actually a neat mod. It's almost a standalone game on its own for the content, size, and scope of it, the writing is kinda clunky in parts (it feels very 'I'm going to create interesting and conflicting characters' but in a very 'new to this' way), but the actual environments are interesting and the actual quests are pretty fun.

I'll write more once I get deeper into it (only about an hour, maybe a little more), but so far? It's something that seems decent.

Okay so (2 days later) the place had a great selection of stuff. That being said, it's not somewhere I'm gonna go hang out or take my kid. Way too many "m'lady" types around who were staring at me as I looked at the minis with my kid, including one dude who looked at me like I'd walked in holding a bag of rotten produce.

I'll buy shit from there just bc it's a licensed store that gets free-to-store delivery on shit like Warhammer and D&D, and their selection really is amazing, but I'm not gonna be gaming there because the place just felt hostile and I am NOT fucking my peace up for that shit.

Going to the local game shop with the kiddo today to see if they're interested in any nerdy shit like mini painting, ttrpgs, magic (GOD PLEASE NOT THAT it's so prohibitively expensive, at least I can get cheap 3d printed minifigs) and also to scope the place out. They're located in an artist's collective building, and market themselves as welcoming to families and queer and trans people, so we'll see.

Also pray for me that I don't come home with a whole-ass fucking mini kit to make with the kiddo or else my free time is done for lol

I'm nonbinary, gay as all hell, I have a nonbinary kid, and they and I are both autistic so the hyperfixation thing just /happens/ with both of us. (I won't be posting their face on here or anything but I might post about them here and there.)
