This is a wonderful article. And so true, I was the college kid saving up for a $200 Thinkpad 600X to do my comp sci homework via linux, browse forums, and chat on IRC networks. It was the best time to learn about computers and what they could do. I still dream about that laptop and hell, might pick one up for nostalgia if I can!

Honestly, I think I just might buy a refurb iPhone 12 mini and use it as an iPod touch. Better than fussing with these old android based mp3 players, and for the same price. I went back to Apple Music for music streaming (along with YouTube Music) and want to build an offline library with BandCamp, rips, and offline videos, along with my Jellyfin stuff.
