This evening I finished reading “The Three-Body Problem” by Cixin Liu. It’s science fiction on an epic scale mixed with the Chinese Cultural Revolution and computer gaming. The English translation has occasional footnotes explaining Chinese references and context which I loved.

I just got the hard copy of Draft 0 of my next novel! 😍 The cover art will change but it’s neat, huh? Now there are several editing steps but the race toward publication has officially started. A week ago, I finished reading “The Trident Deception” by Rick Campbell. Often referred to as a modern-day Hunt for Red October, it’s a chilling story of what can happen to nuclear weapon control systems.

I’m behind on my posts. 🙂 Late August I finished reading the short story collection “I, Robot” by Isaac Asimov. They were originally published 1940-1950 and it’s stunning how Asimov could predict so much of our future.

Tonight I finished reading “Dark Waters – An insider’s account of the NR-1, the Cold War’s undercover nuclear sub” by Lee Vyborny and Don Davis. A great story of submariners, new discoveries on the ocean floor, and the race against the Soviets.
