I would like to fourmally thank eMudhra for not making their private key 67 because if it was I think the internet would actually implode

Elon Musk spent 44 Billion $ to try to make people use a single character, X, to refer to his company. It didn’t work.

eMudhra has done what $44B couldn’t.

4.

yes, this is another one

obv not remotely as bad as php or emudhra but like fuc man

Limited commercial impact

The affected global TLS business is a very small part of eMudhra’s operations and accounts for around 1% of the company’s revenue. However, this may have some reputational risks on eMudhra which cannot be quantified.

oh my fucking god

the onion would write a less realistic press release than this

I am going to leak your private key in 5… 4…

wrt the Openai math stuff:

I’ve also seen this argument, and it just makes me sad to hear. How good do you think our species would be at woodworking if no woodworker ever did anything except make the cheapest possible cabinet for a customer as fast as possible without thinking about anything?

These mathematicians are almost exclusively funded by governments to do research for public good and our species’ intellectual growth. Their exploration and curiosity gave us the encryption algorithms, sampling theorems, etc that allowed you to make that tweet.

This is the hypercapitalist idea of man as machine, where everything is in service of a customer, of doing the easiest thing possible, where creation and creativity and art just don’t make sense.

The US National Medal of Science was recently awarded by the trump admin to zero actual scientists and a bunch of billlionaire ai / ai hardware executives.

These people don’t act like AI belongs on some kind of throne because they think it’s neat. They built the throne a long, long time ago, and they finally have something to place on it.

So, how does that feel? Well, it feels like we’ve been working on an archeological dig for 4 years, gradually discovering more and more of a really cool-looking dinosaur skeleton, and then a trillion-dollar company showed up and just blasted the whole thing with TNT, handed us the whole skeleton, and walked away. So, I guess I’d say, “not great”.

:neocat_laptop_notice: New Email!
:neocat_aww: Free Pizza….
:neocat_scream_angry: From the US army recruiters

fuck them and their predatory bullshit

American society is keeping people in poverty, having college cost a bajillion dollars and fuckall health insurance, only for the army to spam email the entire student body telling them they just have to join the army to earn money, pay for college, and have health insurance.

(When people do go off to bomb the Middle East or whatever and get turbo cancer from you burning toxic waste haha what operation that was all top secret fuck you)

this is the same exact order, you will get chemicals shipped from the supplier in both cases, the only difference is which website you go to

RE: https://snug.moe/notes/as16qr7quh621432

ok im off to the convenience store before it closes

hopefully i can walk off my rage at the research chemicals market

honestly this kind of thing motivates me doing chemistry with hardware store chemicals on yt and stuff, it's fun by itself but it's more fun when it's also to spite sigma

YOU DO SELL IT .......YOU FUCKERS

Your text search crashes the website, your structure search doesn't work, I literally have to go look up the SKU numbers on Ligma Balldritch and then copy them into your website

I WANT TO LIKE YOU you're saving me from sigma's awful prices but please for the love of fucking fuck make your website usable

RE: https://snug.moe/notes/as16913xnat0zp8g

ok this is the right structure they don't have it on their website even if they do have it on sigma with shipping that is effectively $28 per item

if you ever wonder how universities spend so much money the answer is that a significant chunk of it goes to these asinine companies that own the market like ligma balldritch

RE: https://snug.moe/notes/as1652ojvil66gl7

nvm i drew the wrong structure im a moron but my point still stands

RE: https://snug.moe/notes/as1624i6a1a706w8

YOU SELL IT ON SIGMA DAMMIT

RE: https://snug.moe/notes/as15yzvbdlskl96x

ordering chemicals sucks

"$500 for 10g"

"$27 for 100g but the shipping is $86"

"$30 for 50g but will take two months to ship for some reason"

"better price but on a supplier website that I can't get through the order process without it 502-ing"

So I realized something.... countries like Germany don't have nuclear power plants anymore, I doubt something like this counts as nuclear power from a regulatory perspective, but the dictionary says a power plant is "a factory where electricity is produced"....

I could technically build the largest operational nuclear power plant in Germany (to spite the German government for banning nuclear power plants)

RE: https://snug.moe/notes/arisbhvwajld7me4

it must be a really fun gig to work for a VPN company, since they want to advertise “servers in 70 countries” or whatever, your job is just to fly to increasingly less-well-known countries, hang out with some people there, and convince someone to let you leave a computer plugged in

I assume that’s how this works, I guess it’s possible they have actual rack space but I’m sure it’s still someone’s job to go set up a server to Comoros because a competitor is now offering 71 countries

🦊Furry + 🍕Pizza = ?

#Furry #fursuit #pizza #NTNU

I am becoming dangerously convinced that a homemade betavoltaic cell might be something I could actually make

I've spent the last year doing diy-scale nuclear stuff and kinda-diy-scale semiconductor stuff......

(It could certainly be a worthy entrant for The Isotope Files series lol)
