Oh wait I nearly forgot I wanted to play this for #Spooktober this year! I heard about this from PowerPak a while back and decided immediately I didn't want spoilers, so let's jump into this fresh together, shall we? Today we're checking out SIGNALIS!

Y'all, this weird dude showed me this weird book with these weird symbols on it, and now there's these giant leviathans sweeping up from the depths... The fish are getting increasingly, uh, well, concerning... I feel like we're starting to caress the surface of some horrors beyond our human comprehension...

Whoo, well after that heavy subject matter I think we should take a quick break and go fishing, shall we? I've got a nice little boat here all set up so we should be able to shove off and catch some, good... Uhh... Hey, uh... Why, does this, err, fish seem to have more eyes than normal? That one seems to be, like, wriggling? That's not normal, is it?
What have we DREDGED up from the seafloor? What have we awoken?...

Oddly enough, today's VOD feels both a long time coming and also crazy that we're already this close to recent. I feel like we just talked about this game a few months ago?
Regardless, today's VOD is the indie horror darling, Mouthwashing! We did have a few technical hiccups during the latter half of the playthrough, although we honestly didn't miss much. This was an absolutely fantastic game, and although I've spoken to my missing a lot of the more obvious plot points and have lamented my playthrough because of them, I do feel like my first impressions of the game are still valid and hope they don't tarnish the experience of the viewer.

Happy Spooktober everyone! Today we kick off this year's month of spooky scary horror games, starting with one I had discovered right at the end of the month last year, and had no time to try it out before Niervember. Let's change that, shall we? Today we're checking out Lost in Vivo!
Come stop by for some spooky scary fun times!

We started off today's stream with an indie horror game, a short but fascinating little walking sim through various vignettes themed around internalized issues and "demons", not bad honestly! Quite artistic and abstract, easy enough to digest and play through.
From there we had some time left in the stream, so we jumped over to a classic Doom map with similar spooky walking sim vibes, #TNTPhobia! Now, my personal experience with Plutonia & Team TNT is nowhere near as extensive as the larger Doom community, however I've played these maps enough to at least catch the references on display. This was such a good spooky little adventure trying to find the various voodoo doll actors to unlock the ultimate secret which, due to the time constraints, we did not accomplish, I'm afraid. However, still a fantastic mapset worth exploring for yourself!

What a nice coincidence that we arrive to #Spooky Season (nearly) at the exact same time in both our VODs as well as IRL! Today's VOD is another entry in the Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes!
These have always been fun little campfire ghost story point & click adventure games. Nothing too difficult, nothing too horrifying, and all really nicely polished into a fun short story. It's a shame we seem to have lost the original entry into the series, but at least we get to see a few of the later entries!

We return one last time to the adorable little world of wherever this fox lives.
Today we pull out all the stops, we are going to solve as many puzzles as we can and finish this game, so if you haven't played TUNIC yet and are at all interested I would say either play the game yourself or pick an earlier VOD and come back later. For those of you who have already experienced this game, today's the final push!

We've got another time restriction today, and on top of that we're down a member for today's #Archipelago run. No matter, we'll just lighten the requirements and hope for the best!
Join ShokkZ and myself for a smaller 2-Player run today, with hopefully more success this time around!

I have never had a gaming experience quite like this one. The last time I had to literally take notes was over a decade ago, and the fact that I had to take screenshots and work out the puzzle solutions was incredible to do in real time on stream!
We did ultimately beat the game, and uncovered almost every secret, save for the FINAL PUZZLE which is honestly just fine. I'm perfectly happy with what we were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time with this game, and it has genuinely skyrocketed itself into the short list of my favorite games of all time.
I am so happy I had the opportunity to experience this game on my own, and I highly encourage anyone who loves this sort of Zelda-like puzzle solving with meta level progression to give TUNIC a try for yourself! It's one of the few games I wish I could completely forget so that I could experience it fresh all over again!

Oh man, do we have a special VOD today. We were trying to figure out what to play next, and after plenty of discussion, @nincodedo asked "have you ever played TUNIC?" You know, I haven't, so let's fix that shall we?
This game, goddamn, this game absolutely won me over from the moment my little fox rolled across the bridge. The music is perfect, the art style is clean and pleasing. The gameplay is just the right amount of difficulty without being frustratingly so. The amount of secrets and Easter eggs hidden away to discover was near constant, to the point of a running gag of finding one and asking if it had been there "the whole time?!"
Obviously, spoilers ahead for this amazing little gem, if you have any interest in a cute little Zelda-like with Soulslike combat filled to bursting with puzzles and secrets to find, I HIGHLY advise playing the game yourself. The biggest part of the experience for me was going in without any prior exposure, and it made the game all the more enjoyable for me.

Here we go, the second half of Legacy of Rust, and whew boy is this latter half rough. Vassagos are an amazing new addition, don't get me wrong, but when you have an absolutely massive map filled with these assholes sniping at you from every which way, it gets a bit frustrating, not gonna lie.
Love the new artwork, the new flame based weapons, and the new additions to the bestiary, but this mapset got real difficult real fast.
#Gaming #VideoGames #Streaming #LetsPlay #LiveStream #Twitch #TwitchStreamer #SmallStreamer #RetroGames #Doom #DoomII #BoomerShooter
So I can definitely say this was a successful trial run, despite the hurdles of never having done this before. If we had some more time I think we could have finished, but I definitely need to refine my configurations, loosen the win condition slightly, refine the spawn slots that get randomized, and generally think about progression in a much less linear fashion.
Having said that, the fact that it's possible to run this with gameplay mods is fascinating, and if I can run something like God Complex, DoomRPG + RLA, or hell, some Hideous Destructor for some extra chaos, I think we could be onto something. I think having a much broader map pool with something like WadFusion could be fun as well. Regardless, we'll need more time or people to smooth out the progression curve for everyone, so definitely something to return to!
Hold on everyone, I know it's still Septembertale but we ran out of floofy goat boys, and we have a short stream timeframe today, and, and... And we wanted to give this whole Archie Pell ago, thing, a shot?
So for today we're gonna jump over to try this multi world randomizer thing out, with some vanilla Doom II!

While the PoE League wasn't over, the two of us had had our fill for the time being, and oh look, Legacy of Rust had just released, let's give it a spin, shall we?
These maps are striking, especially for an official expansion. Granted it's been a few decades, but man, integrating the Doom beta assets and building upon concepts in the Doom Bible like this, it's just nice to see. The first episode isn't too rough, either, so for now we've been enjoying our first playthrough!

Well, we did it, we crossed the threshold between from draining our health into perpetual Righteous Fire. All we have to do now is buff up our damage output and we can just walk through rooms of enemies and have them clear out at our feet. If we can buff up the range of the AoE, even better.
This was a fun build, all things considered! It took a while but the fact that we eventually got to a point where the build became viable was an accomplishment for having never looked up any guides or videos, it was all organic from my own in-game research. I'll call that a win for this league for sure.

One thing I have yet to accomplish, even now as I write this, let alone back when we streamed this league, is the ability to begin grinding out maps for the endgame secret bosses. I only began scratching at the surface of the endgame of PoE beyond this league playthrough, and I hope to someday be able to partake again.
As for the SoK league itself, while I enjoyed our time in it, I do feel a bit odd now that it's become evergreen and we just collect gold to pay for our AFK farms. I already have a passive farming game, I don't need another grindset to commit to. I'm just here for the Diablo spiritual successor gameplay and deep character builds.
The Righteous Fire Templar build is slowly taking shape, at least. We continue to creep ever closer to the threshold at which we no longer take damage while it's activated. From there we can just start maxxing damage output and clearing screens.

Man how is it already halfway through September already? Took some time off for myself and got even more caught up with the farms of war, so I think it's time to return to our cute little adventures with the Fun Gang!
There's good odds we'll be done with Chapter 5 today, so for the rest of Septembertale we may need to look into alternatives should Chapter 6 (likely) not drop early enough.

In the previous league I had no idea what build I wanted to work on, so I simply focused on survival and let myself just get used to the various systems, synergies, and boss fights. This time around, I had an idea of a build I wanted to try out, so I aimed vaguely in a direction and tried to make my mark. I noticed at some point that it was possible to out-pace Righteous Fire's self-damage, and decided that instead of just trying to beat the story mode, this time around we were going to min-max that ability and become Trogdor.
Will we succeed? We'll find out!

Wait, why am I washed up on this beach, again? Didn't we just do this? Who are these Settlers of Kalguur and why are they demanding payment in something called, "Guh-old"? Never heard of such things before in my life, we trade magical maguffin transmutation reagents or we walk in this part of the world, friendo.
