NEXT WEEK ON #ThePlaylist

Spooky season is once again very much upon us, and rather than do a generic Halloween playlist, we thought we'd go down the different, potentially more interesting route of:

Underworld

So will it be songs about Orpheus or Hades, bangers from the legendary British dance act, or songs about fictional lingerie factories in Manchester?

Sling your suggestions this way using #ThePlaylistSuggestion or, the form on the site ( https://djdarren.site/archive/suggestions/ ) and together we'll put together two solid hours of spooky underworldly tunes.

Have you really fed your pets if you didn't sing a little song at them while you were doing it?

🎶 Iiiiiit's meaties for the pussy cats,
meaties for the pussy cats
meaties for the stinky pussy caaaaats 🎶

Warm quiche?

NEXT WEEK ON #ThePlaylist

Another guest theme, this time brought to you by @MrAndrewD who wants to hear your favourite songs about:

The Clap

Will it be two hours of the greatest hits of Val Doonican, or will we allow some lesser tunes to be played? Spray your ideas all over #ThePlaylistSuggestion, or use the submission form at https://djdarren.site/archive/suggestions/ (which I promise I'll actually remember to look at this week...) and together we'll put together yet another excellent* couple of hours of radio.
_
*excellence not guaranteed.

Oh, and when ponderatin' your suggestions, consider referring to #TheDatabase to see if what's in your head was played a couple of weeks ago. Because if it was, unless it's Concrete Schoolyard by Jurassic 5 it's probably not getting another airing.

Behold this week's edition of #ThePlaylist.

You know all those tracks where the lyrics say one thing, but people stubbornly refuse to accept them? Well, those songs have been:

Misconstrued

We wanted to hear your favourite examples of these, and you didn’t disappoint.

Some solid gold Ozzy Osbourne on the 'station' right now.

https://radio.djdarren.site/public/theplaylist

The track that's currently playing (Low Roar - Don't Be So Serious) is SO perfect as the soundtrack to Death Stranding.

If nothing else, it offers a neat way for sighted people to experience a little of what's it like to use Mastodon as a blind person. Images show up as a pixelated mess, so you have to rely on the alt text to decipher them. And, well, it turns out that a lot of y'alls alt-text game is poooooooor.

Because I'm broken, I'm trying out a Mastodon client that works on the command line. It's certainly an experience

Meanwhile, I’m sat here quietly, clearing shit off my VPS so I can update Wordpress.

This is me having a nice evening.

Sat in the barbers where T is getting a hair cut. One barber is talking to their client about video games, T’s is talking about hair on the neck being a sensory nightmare, there’s a beautiful jet black Harley in here, and metal on the stereo.

If I still needed haircuts, this is where I’d come.
