I refuse to call LLMs 'GenAI'. I've worked with them for over a year now and no, they are not generating anything but walls of text. What they do is not 'generative' at all. Most of the time, a chat with them brings up a lot of things I could be automating or generating with an LLM in my daily work, but practical tests show that traditional scripting or command-line tools often achieve the same results with far less need for post-processing, oversight, or quality control.
