You know this, I know this, it's still nice to have a comic about it.
Since they were mowing the park all day I was nervous to find out if #antsFivePoints would be spared. Well the signs worked!
Since the hill is the only part of the park that still has tall grass it was full of birds feasting on all the bugs chased there— This is a great start. I will try to plant some good local flowers in fall.

👍 Schimmelpenninck: Wat de meeste mensen maar niet lijken te willen snappen, is dat AI geen handig nieuw instrument is dat het leven makkelijker maakt, maar een techniek die mensen in economische (en dus politieke!) zin overbodig maakt. Niet als bijeffect, maar als doel.
De beslissing dat we AI nodig hebben, is genomen door de bedrijven die AI verkopen. Alleen dat simpele gegeven zou ons allemaal tot AI-scepticus moeten maken, maar dat gebeurt niet omdat onze biologische voorkeur voor gemak en de kortste route ons in de weg zit.
Los van het feit dat AI een catastrofale hoeveelheid energie en water verbruikt en de astronomische investeringen alleen terug te verdienen zijn door miljoenen arbeidsplaatsen weg te vagen, lijkt niemand zich af te vragen waarom we het überhaupt nodig hebben.

Google invokes "The Wizard of Oz" with Gemini
#Google is pushing for folks to use #Gemini #AI in Chrome, and has launched an apparently new slogan: "There's no place like Chrome" -- obviously invoking a famous line from the film "The Wizard of Oz" (1939). My immediate thought was Gemini as the fake Wizard himself, pretending to be something he wasn't, putting on a big show and spouting dangerous misinformation. Perhaps a more accurate slogan for Gemini might be, "I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too!" as spoken by the Wicked Witch of the West. At least she was honest about her intentions.
