@vee @gwynnion Larry does seem like the exact type of kitty who would inspire tales of his adventures. You have to admire his plucky perversity… I can’t think of a single cat I’ve met who enjoys digging things up rather than simply digging to burying them.
Who knows, maybe he’s not after truffles at all. Perhaps he was once a local pirate’s cat and he’s searching for gold doubloons. A most intriguing animal, and many thanks to Gwinnion for bringing his story to light.

People have complained about the lack of influencers on the Fediverse, because they struggle to create the kind of audience they have on commercial, centralised networks. I actually see that as an advantage. I find far more interesting people here, because we have deeper, direct dialogue and discussions. Its more bottom-up, less top-down around here. I like!

I want to say, it's important to know the difference between healthy humility & trying to make yourself a martyr - which often leads to compassion burnout & overriding voices/needs/wants for/with marginalized folks that one may seek/want to help out. We don't help anyone much, if we cannot ever admit we fucked up & seek to amend past wrongs (whether they were intentional or not). Without honest personal accountability & willingness to learn & do better, no healthy humility can have any space to grow life sustainable roots.

Being a Mastodon server admin is not an easy job, especially with all these spam bots powered by LLMs and AI crap. In fact, anything running web facing will be attacked by all those AI companies to steal your data. I absolutely hate this garbage behaviour. Yes, many solutions exist to stop bots, but even highly paid solutions like Cloudflare anti-bot & co get defeated many times, & open source solutions works but it is another game of cat and mouse. I appreciate the fight humans are putting up
