Tried the reset procedure and it's still not working even though the error message has now gone. Tech person is coming tommorrow to check out things. Turns out the outdoor unit is 13 years old.

Update: the error message reappeared sometime later.

Think if we have to replace things, we will get a smart aircon and link it in to the rest of the system.

Coming up to a week of cold nights and the compressor in the aircon just packed it in!
