I won't touch these tools for a lot of reasons but one of them is that you turn into the person you practice being, and I am absolutely not going to practice being somebody who talks to anyone the way you have to talk to chatbots to get anything out of them.

Yesterday I attended a tutorial on a super technical topic where the lecturer was an amazing South Asian woman and.. it was incredible how much disrespect she was getting in the comments by men of all backgrounds who just probably frankly didn’t believe that she knows much more than them.

This year more than most, I’ve really been reflecting on my own disability. It really hit me when I filled out a form recently and checked three of the boxes under disability: PTSD, Major Depression, and Generalized Anxiety. And I’ve had to come to a place of acceptance with being unable to work consistently and even being hospitalized at one point. It’s hard to admit that I can’t function sometimes. One of the affirmations that’s remained on my chalkboard is, “You are disabled, not broken”.

They could not organically make more searches happen, because enough of everyone was online and searching.
So, they made search worse so that you had to search more.
This was revealed in the court proceedings in the Google Search monopoly trial, in which Google was convicted (but not punished).
