Während alle sich über den Krankschreibungsunfug echauffieren, redet niemand über die Einführung sachgrundloser Befristungsmöglichkeiten von Arbeitsverträgen für bis zu vier Jahre (und bis zu 6x Wiederholung dieser). De-facto ist das die Abschaffung des Kündigungsschutz.

…und ja, ich werde weiterhin die Worte „Arbeitnehmer“ und „Arbeitgeber“ vermeiden, und stattdessen stets von „abhängig Beschäftigten“ schreiben. Worte machen etwas im Kopf. Gerade dieses Wortpaar bestärkt sprachlich die Beschönigung eines Machtverhältnises: Der grosszügige „Geber“ und der - sich an dieser Grosszügigkeit bedienende - „Nehmer“.

Es braucht aktive Anstrengung sich nicht alleine aufgrund der Wortwahl verscheissert zu fühlen.

I had one of those "trifoo" devices years back and one other in the meanwhile but both were not what I consider stable/robust. Looking at the offers at large sales platforms the reviews are mixed, so I'd really appreciate some first hand information. This is for retroforensic purposes. A feeble old conner 40MB IDE drive with irreplaceable content. What kind of modern USB->IDE drive would I use for this?
("don't! use a PC" is a valid answer too)

Programm-Modernisierung. etc. Hörenswert, gerade weil man nicht viel davon mitbekommen hat, und es überwiegend - trotz der Herausforderungen - ein Bericht aus dem "good news"-department ist. Fein!
Did you know that Microsoft applied for a permit for a warehouse in southern Sweden - and once they had built the "warehouse" they declared they were going to host a datacenter there with diesel backup generators?
I mean, we hear this happening all the time and so let's hate on data centers, right?
The difference is that this is Sweden, and we don't accept that shit. They were not allowed to run their diesel generators, had to purchase battery power instead and in the end they closed the data center down since they couldn't win this fight.
That's how you deal with it.
(They are now using other datacenters in other locations in Sweden, fully compliant with the laws, with renewable energy and not using water for cooling as far as I can see)
This is Germany - solar supply of 47GW at 2pm on that Tuesday, of grid load of 57GW. Solar was still supplying 18.8GW at 5pm. Can you imagine the situation 20 years ago when that solar contribution would have been negligible?
