Today’s Sea of Green is dedicated to the sea of greenbacks that will be earned by the people and companies that create planet-saving green solutions. For many of them, it will be extremely lucrative.
The train app and the gym app now both jump suddenly when you scroll just a little bit. The gym class you want to sign up for is not the button you press now. The QR code for the conductor to scan now zips off-screen. It’s not just my device says Amtrak conductor.
Is it Expo, React Native, or some other library that has pushed AI slop or are both dev teams pushing AI slop? In any case, the trend of new UI/UX glitches grows rapidly.
I like rooting for the underdog but I’m glad France won because Paraguay was playing (and play-acting) like Republicans. We don’t need to see any more of that.

My ongoing job hunt has led to interviews, one today, one a few days ago.
I enjoyed the interviews, and I learned from them. I’ve been interacting with a pretty small number of devs, so it’s great to meet and talk with new-to-me, experienced people as they are focusing on finding somebody to tackle their complex problems.
It’s easy to just code by yourself, or just work in the one way that your team does it. Glad to have a little growth and learning from these interviews!
And now I see the web app has more-awkward state transitions.
Wow. NYT Games is becoming a warning to devs everywhere!
The NYT Games app has been almost flawless for years. It has a few glitches now. Scrolling stutters. A spacing issue. A crash.
Guess the devs started using more AI tools.
I think the world does not need NIMBY (not in my backyard) but rather YIYBY: yes in your backyard. The "your" in question is the person or entity doing it. Want to build a terrible apartment building AND actually live in it for many years to come? Go for it. Want to build a harmful social media app AND require every single employee and their children to be the main users of it? Do it. Want to save my personal data AND put your most important username/password combos in the same DB? YIYBY!
A certain popular game today has a musical notation theme and I thought it included “caesura” and I was duly impressed.
