Accurate yet rude

I don’t like it when people bridge their various socials into Fedi but never interact with the populace. I get it, you want your msg to reach a bigger audience. But not interacting on this platform feels a bit like being used from my POV. Like you want my attention, but you yourself don’t have the time to interact. I wish this aspect of internet didn’t exist.

How many years of flyers did it take for this telephone pole to become so perforated?

Throw back to that time the Six Million Dollar Man pulled in a small dinghy with all the strength of a normal-priced person.

The Traveler, by Jospeh Eckert. A guy on his way to work finds himself tumbling out of his car onto the roadway, one second he's driving and the next he's rolling along asphalt wondering what happened. He realizes that he's lost a day, it's now 24 hours into the future. The next morning, he "slips" again, this time 48 hours into the future. The third morning, he slips 4 days....and so on.

Every time I would think, "He can't possibly slip further than this, what would you even write about, how would you continue the story," I would realize that I still had a huge chunk of the book left. It was very good, I enjoyed it very much. For a guy who is forced by these new circumstances to pretty quickly leave his family's lifetimes, the family aspects of it are touching. The end was interesting too. It wasn't ambiguous like I was fearing, you do find out what's happening. If you enjoy time travel, this is an excellent addition to the genre.

We went to the Farmer's Market yesterday and BNF was there again, selling cases of Pomegranate Cardamom at a steep discount. So now our fridge looks like this, and there is definitely some side eye pointed my way when people are trying to wedge other things in there.

As if I had any choice about this.

I went downstairs to start another Solstice Dress, but then remembered I'd set aside two old pinafores to mend. Both of them are the Verity Hope Pinafore, that I made maybe 10 years ago now? Wild to think they're that old.

I liked them so much that I wore the freaking heck out of both dresses, patched then, etc. Anyway today I made them both into tops, and now I LOVE THEM! They're loose so obviously a tank underneath is necessary, but I love the layered look, and the swish is perfect.

I added a big heart to the black one. ❤️

If you dig this but don't want to hack the Verity Hope pattern, the Solstice Dress from Folkstead has a top option that looks lovely.

Throwing cereal around for the dogs is really helping with fireworks noise!

I’m chucking handfuls of Cheerios into a pile of blankets, in which they then spend time foraging. The noises are BOOMING and every so often Finn startles a little, but mostly he’s doing okay! (Zoe, our labby lab, is hard of hearing, she does’t seem to be noticing).

We’re also watching The Matrix on high volume. Lots of distractions. :)
