Insgesamt habe ich an 4 Stellen irgendwelche Family-Einstellungen vorgenommen, damit überhaupt die Anmeldung klappt: auf der Switch, in der Nintendo-App, bei Microsoft Family und bei den (huch? automatisch erstellten XBox-Konten).
Nur, um dann zu erfahren, dass, nachdem wir das Spiel gekauft haben, zusätzlich noch ein Online-Abo nötig ist.

@dawarich hat mit dem jüngsten Update seinen Dienst eingestellt. Auch eine frische Neuinstallation scheitert.
Ich habe mich für Container entschieden, um diesen ganzen Mist mit Abhängigkeiten etc. nicht mehr zu haben. Zunächst also wieder Maps von @nextcloud

Ich bin richtig beeindruckt von meinen Neuzugängen im #Homelab : #Immich ist fantastisch und schnell. Dauert etwas, 20 Jahre in Fotos nachzupflegen, aber der Stack ist gut.
Und @dawarich : Beeindruckende Visualisierung meiner mit #GPSLogger gesammelten Geodaten.
Der Import von 2,5 Jahren Geodaten dauerte auf meinem Intel N97 etwa 4 Tage, aber das Resultat ersetzt die Google Zeitachse vollständig.

Frage, u.a. an den @adfc_xhain :
Wenn ich mit dem Auto an einer roten Ampel stehe und ein Radfahrer schlängelt sich mit 7cm Abstand rechts daran vorbei - hat dieser Radfahrer auf das Abstandhalten verzichtet? Darf ich beim Anfahren mit weniger als 1,5m am Radfahrenden vorbei?

Wow. I found the vitriol on BlueSky that I didn’t here on Mastodon. Bad stumble. For me, Mastodon was a breath of fresh air. Here when I use the discover feature, I encounter cool pics and people saying interesting things or giving compliments. I can lurk and read science posts I don’t understand and just like and boost other users’ content. I guess I’m saying thank you to the people here building a supportive community. I’m sticking around here where I’ve blocked under 5 people in over a year.

#Manjaro has the overall best experience. KDE is set up beautifully, all the required packages are there, #Steam is well integrated, plus it has #zsh!
Did I mention, the touchpad works out of the box, without touching the settings? And it runs on Wayland.

Maybe I should write a blog post about my experiences with installing #Linux after having messed up my dual-booting setup with #Windows. If I wasn't really wanting linux with some 20 years experience, I would have given up immediately:
#Fedora is not working to my expectations: mplayer and ffmpeg are missing, and it reboots after updating. Plus, there's another package manager to learn.
#Ubuntu would not even install with a dual-booting setup on my machine (Dell Inspiron 5515)

So ridiculous: #Ubuntu won't even install, although I set up all the partitions!

Alright, installed #Fedora on my laptop, just to get the graphics driver working. Apart from the new package manager - there's a huge problem with that distro: no #mplayer or #ffmpeg! Can you believe that?

Can please someone explain to me, how to get the #amdgpu driver running with #Manjaro? Any more recent version than from 2018? I was told, Radeon drivers integrate well with linux.

Updating #Microsoft #Windows is the most annoying part of starting their computers. It takes forever, doesn't achieve anything, plus, I have to update all my apps anyway. Why can't they do it the #Linux distro's way: after - at most - 8 minutes, everything is up to date and doesn't need 100% CPU for 4 hours.
