A-goal was 1:35 (but anything under 1:40 was welcome), but the heatwave killed the training.
The GPS in the park with all the trees and lots of turns was all over the place. I thought I'd written-off my goal time long before the end, but actually it could have been close had I held on better in the last few Kms.

Loose gravel is not a great surface to run on. But the weather conditions were pretty good.

Chip has since been attached to laces; gels have been put in pockets; there is no bib.

Race tomorrow, so wanted to take it easy (with a speedy finish).
Jogged around while chatting at "slightly too fast", but ok.
With 500m to go, I dialed into a pace I normally only see during interval sessions, while being encouraged by the friend I'd been chatting with (I think she might even have broken into Z2 when we hit ~3:40/km).

Bit of a cooldown jog, then a busy rest of day.
Half-Marathon tomorrow early, not sure what to expect.

The CRASH Clock paper is now peer-reviewed! So to celebrate, my co-authors and I wrote an explainer article (because how better to celebrate one article than by writing another... oh academia...)

I finally finished this blog post, which was very difficult for me to write, but I think it says things I needed to say.

It's about how AI has personally harmed me and has been hurting my motivation to write for years.

Evening run in the heat. Tried some speed work, struggled.

Started the 6x1.5km workout because it's programmed into my watch already. Did 2x1.5km because that was more than enough in this heat, poor prep, and after not much running recently.

Trees were nice, got some pictures during warm-down.

Oh, and I found a big fat pile of pro-histamines.
(Probably should have popped some anti-s today).

Lithuania, Vilnius to be precise. Was something quite amazing actually.

Also, a wonderful city to visit, would recommend wholeheartedly. (And the river is fantastic to run along).
