Now thinking about how I've always been "the animal person", and how 95% of it is simply not bum rushing the animals and being loud. Simply imagine how you come off approaching them.

How would you feel if a stranger excitedly gasped at you, maybe with an exclamation, ran up, and started touching you all over? Especially if that stranger was much taller than you, especially if you were either in an unfamiliar environment or felt like your home was potentially being invaded. Worse if you were already prone to anxiety, or was abused by half of the people you were forced to be around.

Just like, chill. You are not entitled to an animal's attention/body, just as you are not entitled to do that with humans.

I am constantly going crazy about this, as a former minor™️ who lurked in BDSM spaces for education/experiences on how to safely be a freak in my own time with my own peers. Wasn't suppose to be there, but the alternative was being abusive towards my peers instead out of ignorance (or being abused by my peers, out of mutual ignorance, which happened).

Everyone will be safer if everyone openly discusses/encourages boundary setting and sharing resources on safe sex, no one needs to directly engage with the minors to throw them a bone. By treating their sexual exploration like a concerning behaviour, some adults are basically shilling "abstinence only" with a potential side of victim blaming if an adult takes advantage of their ignorance. This is exactly how we get communities who weaponize "you wouldn't be an oppressive prude would you?" whenever someone doesn't know how to enforce boundaries or doesn't have a good grasp on what healthy relationships look like. They are using the adults who go "minors should never" as a way to appear like the cooler adult who actually gets it and will totally help educate them instead of writing them off.

Also to any potential minor (or adult!) reading, "no limits/boundaries" is the biggest red flag in the universe, healthy relationships (even extreme kink ones) have and communicate boundaries. You are not "brainwashed by a repressed society" for feeling uncomfortable and saying it. Doesn't matter if who's saying that is your age or not, it's manipulative. If you don't know your boundaries, say that, anyone worth a damn will take that to mean go slow and steady, not go out of their way to push the line to discover the absolute hard limits right away. You can be freaky as hell and still have limits, ain't a contest.
