The last call in the Finnish landline telephone network was made today at 0830z from London to Helsinki. Thereafter the network was shut down, ending the 140 year history of our landline telephony. Only a few thousand landline telephones remain for local purposes.

I may have said it before and I will say it again. The most "broadly useful" thing I've bought from the Parkside tool range from Lidl, is the 86 piece tool set that comes in a handy metal box with a carrying handle.

It is (I think) product code 509740, and I have now bought two of them, one is pristine and kept indoors, and one has bits missing and damaged, and shows signs of extreme and frequent use.

It looks like this (picture swiped from google images) but this is it. Fifty quid = bargain.

Transit of the ISS this morning across the solar disk. Recorded video with my SeeStar S50, and then used some ffmpeg/numpy magic to stabilize and show the progression of the station. It took about 0.72 seconds for the ISS to cross the sun. Focus wasn't the best. #astrophotography

I've been doing more work on my 40x8 LED clock. I'm using a Pico W with firmware written in Rust on embassy-rs. Got NTP syncing working, web control with a single page app and it has a useful API. Happy!
