It's really hard to break a Debian upgrade so hard that it can't be fixed, but I sure gave it a solid try.
(It is fixed, but I lost several hours to tedious debugging).

Sure my servants like to use my bed, but they're warm so I allow it.
yeah ChatGPT, we all trying to find the person who is responsible for this ram prices mess 😂
I recently finished Book 6 of The Wheel of Time, and if Sanderson didn't finish out this series, I definitely wouldn't still be reading.
For a genre that is pretty notoriously misogynistic, Robert Jordan is a whole nother level. Wild he decided to write so many women.
The FBI made a bunch of arrests related to planned "terrorist attack" on Trump's UFC Birthday Party.
This plan was clearly planned by dummies who had fried their brains playing Call of Duty. It was at no point a serious threat, no matter how angry these guys were or how much planning they put together.
Politicians are constantly sending out emails being like "Polls show my race is in a dead heat with my opponent!" without ever once considering that maybe it's because voters don't see them standing for anything.
Just got a new pitch for a Dating App that is built around in-person meet-ups (not a bad idea), but requires that if you like someone you have to scan a QR code (truly an awkward idea) to stay connected, and if you decide that maybe they aren't a great fit for you, you have the option to "refer them to a friend" which is the most corporate way to refer to introducing someone to a new potential romantic partner.

How to prevent accidentally giving some of your hard earned life savings to Elon, so that he can use your own money to hurt you.
Ask yourself 4 questions:
1) Do I own index funds?
2) Are those index funds going to buy SpaceX?
3) Do I want them to?
4) Which index funds won't be buying SpaceX?
Part of what depresses me so much about Cyberpunk 2077 is the way that it resets Night City after the Time of the Red from the most recent edition of the TTRPG.
No reimagining of things, just wind the clock back to before Johnny nuked Arasaka Tower.

Google owns a ~6% stake in SpaceX, which IPOs on Friday.
This news is very conveniently timed.
And I strongly suspect this deal will quietly die in a short while.
Le Guin only considered two groups of people: the ones who walk away from Omelas, and the ones who stay.
But the real world tells us that there's a third group, who think if they have it so good by torturing just the one child, imagine how awesome the economy would be if they could use five, ten, perhaps even hundreds of children. Perhaps they'd sell courses on how to childmaxx your own, private Omelas.
Malicious Compliance Thought: My employment contract has some language (that should be illegal) where The Company lays claim to everything I produce even outside of Work Hours and not using Work Equipment. They require I get permission from The Company to contribute to Open Source Projects.
But LLM-Generated Code isn't "mine" legally, it has no Copyright. So they *shouldn't* be able to come at me for submitting generated code.
I have no intention of doing this, but it's a curious quirk.
Rudy Giuliani managed to squander an incredible amount of unearned Goodwill be had by happening to be NYC Mayor in 2001.
Now he's in bad shape in the hospital and no one cares because of who he showed himself to be.
It is wild to me when someone describes a co-worker moving on as "sad".
It's a job. Develop some perspective.
If they're leaving because they want to leave, that's a win.
Does anyone need a 38" x 52" x 7" granite surface plate? I know of a dead CMM in the LA area which is going to become landfill if they can't find anyone to take it off their hands.
I don't think I'd want to have such a blatantly ageist policy on the books.

I have no plan to watch any Beast Games, but I've watched a couple of videos about people talking about Beast Games, and my main takeaway is that Jimmy Donaldson is one of the most untrustworthy people alive, and absolutely can not understand why the players in his games that he's (unintentionally) designed to encourage cooperation aren't constantly betraying each other for money.
