I fear that people have become desensitized to seeing teachers asking for help with wishlists.

Each year we are inundated with teachers essentially begging for help. I see it & feel it too.

I am one of those teachers who would not be able to run a classroom without the kindness of strangers.

It's possible to start a business, including a technology business, without it being a #Startup . A Startup is a specific kind of business, one in which the goal of the founders is to raise a ton of cash early on in hopes of making a *huge* product down the road.

It's tied to investor and #VentureCapital culture.

It's possible to run a small business where the goal isn't being acquired or creating a monopoly.

New porch fren!

This Sonoran Desert toad has been coming up to the porch to eat bugs attracted to the light. It's pretty skittish, so this blurry, zoomed-in phone snap is the best I got. I'm always shocked that a toad, or any amphibian, can live out here when it's over 100° during the day. There's also an 8 inch long blue sided spiny lizard Who shows up. Haven't seen any geckos since I've been back.
