Alright, so I'm back on #mountaintowncomics tonight at midnight.
I haven't used that hashtag before, but I'm going to start now.
I might go back through and throw it at the end of the original threads, but I probably won't.

Some fantastic news: we just won our election and officially unionized over at Hachette Book Group! 🎉
This makes ours the biggest trade union in book publishing in the US.
Yea, we're not doing this again until she can tell us exactly what she wants and/or can be reasoned with. Also potty trained.
I like camping, but gawt damn is camping with small children a huge chore.
NEW blog - I wrote a summer style guide for men.
Three words: slutty little shorts.

I talked about Buffy the Vampire Slayer on a work call and one of our interns said “oh yeah my grandma told me about that show” so I’m just going to lay down and die now.
Saw a flavored Irish whiskey called "Shanky's Whip" at the liquor store and figured I'd try it after a review I read said it was vanilla-y but not "cloyingly sweet". I guess the review isn't wrong, but fuck me if it doesn't taste like pancake batter with too much vanilla. All the vanilla, but none of the tincture burn.
Guess I'm finding vanilla-y cocktails now.
@SamUpstate @bikenite A2. I think BikeBusWorld has a good summary:
https://bikebus.world/how-to-start-a-bike-bus
I wrote this a long time ago when I first started one but it is dated:

There's a giant many many paged PDF from Alameda County Safe Routes to School that goes into tons of detail but it might make it scarier than it really is.
I think the most basic thing is to consistently ride it and look for families who are already riding and get them to do it with you.
Then find friends of kids who are riding or people who see you (always be talking about it or give people an easy way to join in) and ride with them
For safety of kids, we have adults ride in the front, back and middle. We ride through a fairly busy street that we can't avoid, and we just take the lane. The middle adult(s) kind of keep kids on the right side of the road so they don't cross the double-yellow as necessary.

Our intro, and question from @grammasaurus
Q1. Where are you posting from today?
It's unsafely hot in many parts of the USA, and was last week in Europe. If you must, what’s your best hot weather cycling tip?
Made my own tunica [1] from @freesewing and it was as easy as written on the box! Only thing I forgot was that seam allowances aren't baked in so I got to do some hand sewing in places weat:
Ended up a tad shorter as a result, but with small kids I REALLY appreciated the ease of being able to start and stop my work when and wherever, which isn't as easy with a machine.
Made with a thin wool with a basic patterned weave.
I'm thinking about heat and seasonal eating -- and I have question!
Do you adjust your diet for the weather and the season?
Did you grow up in a food culture with a concept of seasonal food or did you find your way to seasonal eating on your own?
What are the food choices that help you personally deal with extreme heat? (I.e., please share what you do if you do it.)

WELP, I find old.reddit.com the only way reddit is palatable; and I don't login to reddit anymore. So I guess it's going to be dead to me.
Alright, can confirm that biking has in fact made my ass into a work of art.
I came across a new #sewing pattern designer who specialises in drafting for #trans adults and teens, and their patterns are free! They only have one out currently (a cool pair of elastic waist trousers, #transfemme block) but the next one according to the website will be a #transmasc top!
They're also gathering information of trans body measurements to work on their block, you can send them your measurements anonymously if you feel so inclined. 😊
@kimu @edd @ascentale @oheso @bikenite I think I've found People's Co ponchos onn the Decathlon website.

@Pionir asks:
Q4. Has anyone got any off road experience of the Continental Pure Contact tyre?
Is it any good for gravel or dry single track?
(If not, which tire is?)

How much emergency money do you carry on your bike rides? (Comes in handy for emergency ice cream)
Different amounts for commuting than for day trips? Multi-day trips?
Kids are home today, loads of ants are in our laundry room, I've got way too much work to do, and the icing on the cake is some kind of upset stomach making me feel like death.
