I LOVE when family and friends share their hobbies. Just like sharing art, I view it as them willingly sharing and being open about themselves and that's so awesome to learn more about them. Possibly even learning new stuff that might be helpful or excite you too. Its a joy to hear and support them.

I think GITS 2026 is a pretty awesome rendition so far that is pretty faithful to the manga. At least that's my first impressions.

I had a blast at #anthrocon this year. :neofox_happy: 💜 It was lovely meeting so many folks, the raves were wonderful, the dealer's den and Artist's alley were filled with talented people selling beautiful things, the art show was awesome (I got a cute rat puppet!!), the local Indy theater showing of Disney's Robin Hood was phenomenal, and going to Bunker Projects (a local art gallery) for their furry themed exhibit was great, as well as the plushie exhibition. (As someone who LOVES plush and stuffed animals, I was particularly excited to see and experience it) I genuinely cried. This goofy fandom and so many of the people in it mean the world to me, I fucking love you nerds. 🥹

I was flipping rocks today and came across more of the bright red springtails. I think they were under 90% of my landscape rocks today. I took these at higher magnification, and to my surprise, I seemed to get great depth of field. These guys are so tiny, but I took these at over 5x. There were a couple of the even tinier translucent white entomobryiods but I didn't really capture them. They actually spring!

Reflecting on two themes as the US approaches its 250th birthday.
One, the way in which economic tyranny has supplanted political tyranny in our country and around the world. Billionaires (and one trillionaire) are the new kings, and capitalism is the framework of economic tyranny that we need to fight against, while mobilizing around policies that redirect corporate and inherited wealth into affordable housing, childcare and other basic needs.
Two, the deep irony of extreme anti-immigrant policy in a nation founded by immigrants. Racism is a disease the US has carried for its entire existence and it is still deeply ingrained in our country. We need to protect and support our immigrant neighbors and fight against white supremacy.

What I really want to focus on rn in my DJing is building and releasing tension. Adding more tracks into the mix that are longer, more repetitive or have a darker or more mysterious tone, then using those tracks to set up something more direct, explosive and pop-flavored. That kind of ebb and flow is something I want to become really adept at creating live.
