I originally started filming Utrecht because of its cycling infrastructure. Looking back over seventeen years of footage, I realised I have documented something much bigger: the transformation of an entire city.

I don’t have trouble folding them, but I dislike them anyway. But it’s less and less common for sheets to be sold separately.
Simultaneously, I know lots of people don’t want their flat sheets, only fitted and a duvet cover.
We should have a swap system.

This is lovely. I had never heard of Buster Keaton making a last short film in 1964.
I love escargot. It's not easy to find it on menus in New England but I can. The problem is, they cut up the meat and a serving may only be two or two three snails in six shells. For people who eat escargot, is this common where you are?
I'm watching 'Desert Fury' from 1947 and the film score is transcendent. Go to look up the composer and it is Miklos Rozsa! Which explains its magnificence. I love Rozsa.
I've been on a sewing and mending mission over the past few weeks and thought I'd share some of my creations. Hubby had some holes in his t-shirts so I practised #embroidery with some #VisibleMending.
I'm not very happy with my skinny bees, they were supposed to come out a lot chubbier.
The octopus is made with chain stitches. I'm still deciding whether that's the best choice to fill out a shape but I didn't want to do a solid fill.

At our high school, for two years in a row, we had NO students pick the "advanced" mathematics stream (locally called Specialist Maths).
I explained in various ways why this was. So then, this year, someone asked me to put "my money where my mouth is". So I said sure, give me some of the Year 10 math students (the year they're making their choices) for one period a week but...

Should I paint #caseinPaint with a solution of citric acid to actually make it waterproof? Because it's not actually waterproof. I mean, the internets say it is but it really isn't. They say it turns waterproof when dried. It doesn't. I thought it needs like a month to crosslink or something and then it turn waterproof, I waited, tested. Nope.
There's no instruction that says you should like activate the waterproofing with a layer of acid. #Appropedia just says it's waterproof. But reading on how any acid makes casein insoluble and how any alkaline makes it soluble again it just makes sense. I dissolved it to make it paint. Now I should fix it after it's painted.

FFS what do you have to do to not see posts by someone you’ve blocked or muted when they use a hashtag you follow? Because blocking or muting doesn’t seem to work.
The Moroccan geographer Mohamed Berriane just told me an amazing story:
About ten years ago, in Corsica, he talked to some Corsicans who had been hiking in the mountains in Morocco. On a high mountain slope, they encountered some bad weather and got lost. So they did what Corsicans do in that situation: they sang a specific song, which is known in Corsica as a call for help. And right away, some local Amazighs heard them and came to help them, because the Amazighs have the same song, which they use in the same way.
Mohamed thought this was fascinating and should be studied, but hasn't found anyone who's interested.
Camponotus punctulatus is a carpenter ant from Argentina. They make massive mounds in open pastures.
This might sound very pedestrian and boring but it's very odd that a carpenter ant is building mounds.
Solonopsis (fire ants) make small mounds and are a real hazard because they sting. Camponotus punctulatus can't sting. Yet these carpenter ants change the landscape.
Very little documentation on these ants. Morphologically they look very similar to other carpenter ants.
@adub the newest Engineering buildings at Waterloo do have CO2 monitors built in to the wall and I certainly do look at them.
I gave an exam once in a new Math building, M3, and the CO2 was at 2500. I hear they actually fixed that, but I haven't checked. 2500!

We recently started this project (sweet potatoes growing ) bug am looking for someone who can help us out by teaching us how to grow these potatoes effectively. The potatoes grew well and healthy looking but they didn't put on any potatoe over there down when we reached the day of harvesting , the we couldn't get anything.
