The word "tubthumper" on page 108 of Finnegans Wake brings to mind the Chumbawamba song with the lyric "I get knocked down, but I get up again". The book centers on the eternal fall and rise of one man who represents all humanity. The song came out 50+ years after the book, but one should assume the reference is intentional, because this is Finnegans Wake.

TIL that Mozart had a sister who was also a child prodigy but whose music career ended at 17 because it was understood that she was supposed to get married rather than continue performing. She was described as one of the greatest piano players in Europe when she was a kid.
