this exchange highlights a problem that's just going to get worse as more people age (& become disabled due to long covid) - lack of accessible housing and being forced into paying way over ask when buying because there are so few options. the rental market isn't much better.

but, it's the tip of the iceberg. even being able to get a wheelchair in the door we've spent at least $10k on basic reno to get around inside, the city is dropping $90k on replacing an aged lift, we're waiting on state funds ($100-125k) to make the kitchen and deck accessible, and haven't begun to price out the bathroom and bedroom renovations. second accessible egress? haha, no. better grading on the well above ramp slope limits for the current egress? maybe. would be nice if more people were pushing universal design on new construction.
