The vet called. Charlene is a very sick kitty, extremely dehydrated with an elevated white blood cell count—over 60,000. Her GI infection is serious.
Dr. Rodriguez wants to begin her on IV fluids and antibiotics and keep Charlene for the day, maybe overnight. She doesn't recommend *not having the treatment as Charlene "may not recover."
The vet bill will increase to $1200-$1300, an additional $300-$400 more than yesterday's estimate and y'all have contributed.
I'm going to say a prayer, cross my fingers and give the Dr. the go ahead to proceed. I don't want to lose Charlene.

I had an old friend come over on Friday with her brother, old farts like me, and then she came back over on Sunday with her son and his wife. They hung up my blackout curtains, put together my pantry unit, set up my new adjustable bed frame, and put together my new file cabinet. There was almost no way I could move forward in unpacking without these things happening, and no way I could do it myself. Most of this stuff has been waiting since I moved in in November. It feels like a huge weight has been lifted. Thank you, Starrah!
