Agentic AI has "guardrails" (e.g. you have to explicitly say "don't delete all the files on my computer" if you don't want it to delete all your files).

One of these guardrails is asking users to confirm whether to do things. Claude Code apparently has now decided that if you take over sixty seconds to answer a question, it'll just go ahead.

Turns out guardrails get in the way of consuming tokens, and you must consume tokens in order for the business model to work.

Die Stadt Hamburg hat zum 1.7. alle Schulbegleitungen für Menschen mit Inklusionsbedarf entlassen, weil sie die Kosten nach der "Gesundheitsreform" allein tragen muss. Dasselbe steht uns im Zweifel auch ins Haus. Das würde das Ende der Schulkarriere meiner Inklusionsperson bedeuten. Ohne die Schulbegleitung besteht da nahezu keine Hoffnung, dass das funktioniert.

An LLM policy isn't about winning people over. It's about setting boundaries.

As with a Code of Conduct or Health Policy it's about telling potential contributors that it's a safe space now, and in the future.

When I see a preamble that talks about how unreliable LLMs are, or how LLM contributions are overwhelming the project etc. but does not unequivocally state any of the greater harms to our planet and society it doesn't tell me that project is safe. I worry they might change their mind.
