This is a complete, installable set for A/UX 1.1 and is the second commercial release of A/UX. All but three images were gathered from the original physical media, with three of the images being

I wrote a thing. It's my Anti-AI AppleSoft BASIC program that can count characters in a word. Like Strawberry.
Every hobby starts with curiosity and ends with storage problems.
Now for some peak UNIX gaming to celebrate. I'm happy Snow managed to get through this entire installation and A/UX 1.x now also runs smoothly.

After countless hours debugging, I'm very happy to announce A/UX 3.1.1 (and probably other versions) boots and seems mostly stable!
You can try it yourself in Snow bleeding edge right now! Note you _must_ set mouse emulation to 'relative' or you won't have a mouse and things will crash.

Go upgrade FFmpeg to 8.1.2 now! This vulnerability affects all versions of FFmpeg before 8.1.2 (that are built with the MagicYUV decoder).
EDIT: I’ve had folks point out that ASLR was disabled to demonstrate the exploit and enabling it mitigates the risk. It’s usually enabled by default, so this might not be as big a deal as it sounded, but it’s still a good idea to upgrade when you can.

Fast-forward to a few years ago, when someone recommended an album by a singer-songwriter-guitarist with an oddly familiar name, Chuck Prophet. The music was incredibly good and Chuck's voice was full of world-weary coolness. How many people with that name could there be? Reading his bio, I realized this was the same kid from 7th grade. He had moved to the Bay Area to find his future, just as I had done. Chuck is a massive talent who deserves to be better known.

Chuck went on to attend a different high school than I did, and like most school classmates, our paths diverged. In high school, everyone fortunately started to grow up. Getting picked on was mostly a thing of the past after freshman year, and I made many friends. Then I went on to college, got a degree in architecture, and pivoted to a long career in software engineering. But this is really a story about Chuck.
