I'm in a position of privilege where I can actually plan for this possibility if I stay careful on how I choose to live. I'm just pissed that the social contract has been ripped to shreds and that these systems are likely going to collapse. I understand how this should work and that we don't have enough future tax payers to pay for my generation and beyond, but what could help with that? Immigration for sure! More affordable standard of living so people who want families can have them would also help! Reduce housing costs, make healthcare functional, cut down on transportation costs by making cars optional through robust transit, etc.

All of these things cascade, and the greed of one generation means every future generation has to suffer in a multitude of ways.

Retirement planning sucks when you have to approach the problem with the possibility that retirement benefits may not exist in the future. Really cool that 6.2% of salary is funding retirement for the generation hellbent on making sure my generation suffers in our later years with terrible policy decisions

Finally setting up my new router with OPNsense! I don't know nearly enough about networking and am sure that I'm missing some things but it's already infinitely more secure than my old router that stopped receiving support years ago.

So far I've got the basics set up, my wireless access point is working with a new name/password and my DNS resolver is set to quad9. I'm also planning to set up a VLAN so my work devices can't see my personal devices.

If anyone has suggestions of anything else I should configure lmk!
