#PennedPossibilities 1051. MC POV: What, if any, superstitions do you keep? Do you feel compelled to impose them on others?
Palak: Superstitions are what happens when one misunderstands of the universe. Having spoken with Her, I have few, if any, misunderstandings. I don't always agree with Her logic, but I do not question Her plan. She has much greater knowledge of all the possible outcomes, and so while I do not, I consider my misgivings to be borne for imperfect knowledge. I have Faith, and Faith is not a superstition.
Dellyn: Anyone who has been able to step outside the Flow and see all the possibilities at once knows that superstitions are just imperfect understanding. I do not believe in luck, fate, or higher beings. Given enough time, I can see the outcomes, at least in as far as they are relevant to the immediate situation, and act accordingly. Even if that action is not to act at all. Yes, the choice to do nothing is still a choice.
Shadowpaw: "Oh, yeah. Lots of superstitions existed on Tyrol. I was one of the big //boogeyman// that Tribals used to keep their pups in line. "Don't disobey your elders or the Shadowhunters will claim you in the night and eat you." As if I would ever eat my own kin. It turns out that most of our superstitions, at least among the Tribals, were actually survival tactics dressed up in religion and dogma. "Don't step on the grass in rings of light." Well, there's a reason that the trees don't grow over that particular spot on the ground. Test it and you might lose a leg, or your life. There are lots of ways to die on Tyrol. Bastions are most of them. Don't trust a Bastion with anything you cherish."
