Apparently I slept through an 6.0 earthquake. I'll chalk that up to the longer bike ride I did yesterday.

"Show your work" This was a phrase that I dreaded hearing is math class.
I'd look at a math problem, my mind would race and I'd come up with the answer, but by then I'd have forgotten how and I'd be thinking about the next question. Or something entirely different.

Fifty years later and nothing has changed.
Til that a McDonald's big mac meal, big mac, fries and a Coke is #vegan if the beef patty is not added to the meal.
Yesterday's bike ride was the perimeter of my subdivision. About seven miles total. I kept my pace solidly in the just out of breath range the whole time with a couple short sprints and one small hill climb.
It feels good to be getting my strength back.

My tree produced two cacao pods and I've made chocolate from them after fermenting, roasting and grinding.
I don't eat sugar so it's just straight cacao with a pinch of pink salt.
The tree now has six new pods so when those are ready I'll go pick some ohelo berries to dry and add for a sweet chocolate.
They were roasted until blackened, but I didn't get a pic of that stage.

Calling out the maggats.
It's rare to see the maggat heads in Hawaii, but saw one sporting his red hat today in the grocery store. I let out a loud Ha! As I walked by him.
I feel bad about it and next time I will come right out and call it the pedo protection party. We can never let them get away with it.

A few years ago I was hiking regularly with LikeHike Hawaii, an lgbtq group on Hawai'i Island. I've lost all contact with them and I don't even know if its still active because they announced their hikes on Facebook and I no longer use that sight.
I was once asked if I would take over the group, but back then I didn't have the time to lead every hike.
I now have the time😃
Hopefully I can track down the original leader and get this group restarted!

I spent my day sitting in airports, on planes and in Drs offices. I decided to keep my phone off and read a book instead. Definitely made the time go by fast as I can really get lost in a book. If you live on the Big Island you'll definitely get a sense that you know the fictional places to be towns and restaurants that you know well.
