I just tried to sign up for their accessibility cookie (why Ebay and all sites can't just implement an accessible captcha from the beginning without that I don't know), and since my e-mail address is from GMail, they want to force me to sign up with Google and not just with my GMail! So not only will they track me, but they want to link everything to Google! This is all so that I can do something that everyone else can do freely and without tracking.

Excel has global undo/redo, so if you work on multiple files and hit undo a few times. it may change things in a different file. Good luck reconstructing that, if you don't immediately notice.

Wow, I am truly impressed. We heard about this at the technology exhibitors showcase on Friday night. So yesterday, we stopped by table D4, to talk to the guy who developed LUMIN. I have been using it, to read and manage my emails, and I have to say, it is pretty dang sweet! I’ve been able to archive a bunch of messages, delete some messages, compose messages, just with my voice. And, it is flawless. In the exhibit hall, stop by table D4. @technocounselor I'm building a mastodon client for the BTSpeak and BTBraille. You can develop apps for them using python, and all the apps are on and device for you to look at. Vibe coding is a little interesting with this at first because it doesn't know much about BTSpeak, but I have been able to point it at examples of what I want and it does pretty well.

Ok Siri AI update, because someone asked the other day. It looks like that in beta 3 that VO announces actions or when the model is using tools. It unfortunately does not read out the message itself after it was generated. So I'm subscribed to 2 AI newsletters via email and I asked Siri for the latest AI news from the past week based on those newsletters. All VoiceOver read out was "searching..." and "gathering results..." but it went silent after that.

It can also start from an empty desktop and open things for you and can do complex multi-step tasks, like in the demo he asked JAWS to open settings for screen resolution and it did it with a long list of steps. If you already know how to do a step that the AI is doing slowly, you can just do it while the AI is running and it will continue just fine. #NFB26

JAWS is getting agentic AI soon. From the demos it was able to take a Word document out of protected mode and pick a date in an inaccessible date picker. It can do multi-step actions too and speaks each step as it does it. If it fails or only partially completes, it speaks a message explaining why. It works both on and off the web. #NFB26
