Can you make good use of an original Commodore PET computer? This one is yours for free if you can pick it up in Los Angeles (near USC). My parents bought it in 1978. It has the famous chiclet keyboard and integral cassette tape drive. It doesn't work at this point, which someone told me is probably due to some bad RAM chips but I don't actually know. The screen shows random squares when it's on.

My mom’s 87 and in a nursing facility. She loves adult coloring books and has covered the walls of her room with her work. She especially likes animal designs and gives them names and stories. Storm is a rescue who came into our lives one night in the middle of a crazy storm (hence the name) in the backcountry near Big White BC. We were out in the back forty searching for a forestry crew reported to be stuck on an FSR by a bunch of downed trees.
We had stopped to get our bearings and plan our approach route when one of the team was like: “do you guys hear a cat?”.
The wind was howling and the rain was beating down and it was pretty impossible to hear anything.
We’re like: “No dude, there’s no cat”. And he’s like: “Seriously, I hear a cat!”
And lo and behold, hunkered down by the wheel of the truck, there was this tiny orange kitten. He was pretty emaciated and likely wouldn’t have survived another night in the woods, according to the vet we took him to the following day.
Anyway, now he likes to remind us that he’s a fierce, independent kitty so he’ll come and sit next to you, but with his back turned. Occasionally he’ll roll over and ask for—no, demand—a few scritches.

My wife's getting a new wheelchair that doesn't collapse and we're lucky enough to be financially stable, so it's time to start figuring out what the new car will look like to accomodate. She can walk for limited distances, so we just need enough cargo space.
Anyone here have any experience with the Not A Wheelchair and a plug in hybrid vehicle it fits in? (Living in a townhouse, no place to set up a charging station for full electric)

Very unfortunate that #Scotland has voted down medical assistance in dying. We treat our pets better than we treat each other. Canada has had #MAID for 10 years now; about 5% elect MAID. In my community, an older demographic, it's around 20% and it's a godsend. I know several folks who've elected it. It was a blessing for them and for their families.
