Alright, executive dysfunction folks. What are some things or strategies that *really* help you?

I'm autistic and quite possibly AuDHD. I also think I'm still dealing with the aftermath of a huge burnout a few years ago. I struggle with getting myself to do things that need to be done but aren't that interesting, and sometimes even things that *are* interesting,... there's some kind of internal block/barrier I can't seem to get over to even start; I feel overwhelmed, I procrastinate, I stare into screens non-productively,... and when I manage to start, I often struggle to keep going without letting myself be distracted and/or just being bored/tired too quickly. And then I feel guilty and bad for not managing to do things... sigh.

I'd be grateful for advice, links, videos or books, whatever works.

If you have a "go-to person" at your workplace: don't undervalue them.

If you have someone that solves problems, unblocks others, answers questions outside their official responsibilities, and often gets pulled into discussions that aren't even part of their work responsibilities: make sure you recognize their worth. Ideally formally.

Far too many organizations wake up one day to a letter of resignation from that person because they did not.

Wikimedia is expanding its human rights team, a division of the legal department that safeguards volunteers from digital and physical threats. The foundation recently deployed an anti-doxxing initiative offering contributors more anonymity; it has also connected Wikipedians to local evacuation and extraction services.

Defending volunteers and projects consumes 32 percent of the foundation’s budget. Wikimedia’s litigation costs have doubled since 2020, in part because there are more cases, which new privacy and speech regulations are making more complex.

Never mind AI threats. This is a more worrying global trend to me.

I thought this was an interesting teaching strategy.

Texas is requiring Bible passages to be taught in Elementary School.
She says if you teach it, teach all of it. Ask the kids about the constitution and these passages. Ask them to critically think about their religion and the laws that are pushing this curriculum without their consent.
Bring in world religions as a comparison. Kids are smart.
They will see it for what it is.
