Only now do I discover that this laptop has a bad RAM slot. Of my 5 years of working on this laptop, I guess it was never catastrophic enough to cause issues... hopefully... It is likely also responsible for the random ubuntu issues I had in the first couple years before I had it reformatted to Windows. Only had one random bsod for the remaining years that I'm aware of.
Guess I should do memtests more often.

Anyone know of any good software to efficiently (deduplicate) and automatically backup files on the same computer (to a different drive or folder or whatever)? I'd use file history if it wasn't practically dead.

moving a game from an hdd to the old ssd I'm not using for boot anymore. I'm guessing this is a controller issue for the performance to be sporadic like this.
Now it's even more weird... seems it's more likely to do strange things like this with a 1GB test size.

unless my ssd is going kapoot... idk really how to test for this... it just feels sad to see performance absolutely tank and feel like I have to treat this PC as if it were on an HDD, avoiding any disk iops on system drive while working. Not sure what sort of sata SSD I should look for to replace?

@lamp how'd you get rtsp live streams to work in vrc? Works in vlc. Logs say connection closes due to EOF and it keeps retrying. Using mediamtx.
