I installed a GPU into an old server box so my partner could play BG3 with me. They were playing on the steam deck but the low quality was giving them migraines.

I tried for many hours to get it running on Linux, and after trying the proprietary GPU drivers it stopped booting entirely. I uninstalled the old Nvidia drivers and reinstalled the defaults via cli, but nothing would get it to boot again and the error message "-71" wasn't helpful.

I gave up and paid for a windows license. :(
