I find it amusing that my credit card gives me "reward points" that I can shop for things with out of their catalog, or I can just turn them into cash at a rate of 1000pts = $1. And when I look at things like "Nikon Camera, 183,000 pts" alternatively that's $1,830.00 in cash which would buy the camera and a bunch of accessories and a nice book on Photography. Seems odd that anyone would buy items with points then.

It would be neat if I had a "wide band" (say 1MHz - 10GHz) antenna that I could just leave attached to an SDR for 'grabbing spectrum' of the moment. Its always a challenge to swap out receiving infrastructure when I want to grab outside the current antenna's range.

systemd pisses quite a number of us off. It’s cathartic to vent about it, rather than stew about it, but sometimes we get systemd apologists who make arguments like, “it wouldn’t exist if it weren’t better”, which is just exhausting and unhelpful.

Sometimes we vent to vent, and sometimes we vent because others might have a tidbit of wisdom that might help us.

Either way, telling us that systemd is somehow awesome, but not telling us how to do or fix the thing we’re complaining about, isn’t helpful.

If I ever decide to start a business its gonna sell NEMA cords in different colors. (other than black or white)

Sigh, one of my few remaining Linux servers running Ubuntu 24.04LTS did some sort of live kernel update and now boots to a black screen and nothing running. (can't ssh into it, doesn't display anything once the screen goes black where it would normally have the sddm login screen) ctrl-alt-fx don't work. Its dead. So I didn't realize I was installing Debian on this machine until tonight when it forced me too. #FuckSystemD
