Something funny from this heatwave.

I'm lying on my living room floor. It's 29.5°C inside and 36°C outside. I'm nauseous as the heat has made my IBS flare up. And I'm bloody furious with every single piece of shit that blocked climate action. I've been trying to do my bit since I was a child and now I'm literally sick from their bs.

And yes I'm aware of a lot of the "do your bit" stuff is there to distract from industry doing their "bit". It's also not completely useless though.

It's Showa Day. It used to be the emperor's birthday, but then he died (becoming the 12th longest reigning monarch in history), and they kept the holiday but changed the name. Now it's about the period and not the guy. But when most people think "Showa," they think 50s, 60s, and 70s. Personally, I usually think of the 30s. As in Germany, it was an age of contradictions. There was vibrant culture, but the lack of freedom of speech meant progressives could only express their ideas obliquely.
