Right, seem to be on the verge of doom scrolling (something about weekend morning news feeds seems to regularly get me) so taking some preventative action. Or possibly preventative inaction.

I get tired of “humans are not nature and have no place in nature” arguments.
They’re definitely in a special position and need to be aware of the effects they have, because of their technology and its impact on the earth. But both “Humans must never interfere” and “Humans have dominion over the earth” ignore that humans are natural animals and their interactions with the world do in fact shape ecology and ecological niches.
I think the first argument of never interacting with the natural world in any way denies people something necessary and valuable to their life. And the second argument of them being lords over everything gives too much leeway for harm.
As with most issues, I think the issues instead should be mitigated by teaching people more about the effects of their actions.
To the US Ambassador I'll quote one of the greatest #NewZealand Prime Ministers of all time.
"I can smell the uranium on your breath from here".
In other words jog the fuck on mate.
Star Trek IV: The One With the Whales is the best Star Trek movie.
Because it has the whales.

Saw some Robert Galbrith Paperbacks in Tesco today, and like the hard back editions a few months ago, they mysteriously turned themselves upside down and back to front. I wonder, does this happen to other people (May also happen to anything written by JK Rowling).
@MiaMarkTwo A revolution without tea and cake is not a revolution worth having?
The Fediverse: where we'll absolutely, definitely be planning to overthrow capitalism ... once we've finished this chapter. And if we don't get distracted by wildlife.
I'll put the kettle on. Did someone bring cake?
@AnguaDelphine I think all but Mastodon load arbitrary number of attachments now. I see masto issue # 14336 is still ongoing after 5 years. :neofoxgooglywoozy:

Catherine Herridge might consider delaying any payment of this daily $800 fine for protecting a journalism source until AFTER Trump pays E Jean Carroll in full.
Foxes make me happy, now you have to suffer me spamming your timeline with the cutest fennec that ever lived, Helena. Always posing, always sleeping, always out to greet me.
Have some memories of her. 6 attachments but Mastodon will only load 4 of them I think. 5 and 6 are bonus blep and "so soft it should be illegal".

Of all the shows we might have watched as kids, surprisingly Scooby Doo is the one that I feel prepared us best for real life:
A stoner with constant munchies talking to his dog, a pair of lesbians, and a wannabe jock discover over and over again that bad things are caused by greedy, old, white men.
Oh look, hundreds more bots posting thousands of harassing posts. 🤦♂️
Off on an adventure to moss island!
I do find it pleasing to watch the bees tour the lawn, pulling the clover down then letting it *badoing* back up. Not sure how pleasing the clove finds it of course.
I will repeatedly post this until you like it.
I WORKED HARD ON THIS MEME
There should be emotional support dogs in all public restrooms. No, I will not explain why.
I'm going up t'Morrisons (supermarket for non UKians).
Anyone want anything while I'm gone?
Sorry about the terrible AI accounts that keep popping up..
It seems AI agents use invites to create more accounts so we disabled that for now, managed signups is often the choice
We’re really trying to suspend them all and we spend quite some time each day on this
I truly hate LLMs with all my heart, what a shitshow
