I tried Niri too. Scrolling is nice, but there were limitations compared to Hyprland. For example, I couldn't use keycodes for binding, making it impossible to use the copilot key on my laptop.
And now Hyprland has a scrolling layout too.

I love the yazi terminal file manager! The more time I spend with it, the more cool things I discover. I'm finally able to completely dispense with GUI file managers.

I've removed KDE from my main system. There's much to like about it, but I haven't used it for months. Now I vacillate between Hyprland and Niri.
No more graphical text editors! Just nvim.
I haven't removed my graphical file manager yet. That will be next to go; I'm using Ranger more and more.

Hi Mozilla,
I see you just updated Firefox, which some people close to me use.
You changed the default view to 'threaded', as usual.
This confuses the aforementioned people, requiring a service call from me.
Could you please leave options the way the were when updating?

This morning youtube suddenly insisted that I could not watch videos except in "Mozilla Firefox" and "Google Chrome"!
My favorites Waterfox and Librewolf do not work.
Screw them, Ungoogled Chromium to the rescue!

I hate my smartphone.
I use Arch/Hyprland on my computer. It does exactly what I want the way I want.
My phone does not do what I want, spies on me, is loaded with software that I can't delete, and gets worse with every (involuntary) update.
I don't want to root it. I like to tinker with my computer and I don't need another hobby. I need it to work and it just sucks.

If the person you have a problem with leaves and that's still not enough, then you're not looking for a solution you're just looking for destruction and that is not a way to convince anyone that you're in the right.

I'm not a Fosstodon user, never have been but I do know a lot of people over there and man the Fediverse is just exhausting. The small vocal minority of people continue to do everything in there power to make this platform far more toxic than anything they claim to dislike.

Help! I'm trying to learn Rust. I want to set up nvim as an IDE for it. I've installed various plugins (using vim-plug) but haven't succeeded to get it to work. So far the sites that I've found explain how to install plugins (as well as to-me unintelligible lua code), but not how to use them.
Can someone please point me to a site that explains the whole deal clearly to a c, pascal, assembly-language, etc. programmer.

Can someone suggest an easy-to-use FOSS Linux program to draw electronic schematics?
I don't need it to do SPICE simulations or PCB layouts. Just schematics. And it needs to be as easy to learn and use as possible.

I'll be doing a video on the Rust linux stuff, but the short story is Linus needs to put his foot down and decide what's happening with Rust, the way things are going can't be allowed to keep happening.

Either say you changed your mind Rust is not happening and tell the Rust fans to piss off and shut up about it, or tell the people trying hard to stop Rust to grow up and learn to work as a community. Sitting around watching these fights happen over and over again is a waste of everyone's time.
